Marvel's The Avengers[4] (classified under the name Marvel Avengers Assemble in the UK and Ireland)[1][5] is a 2012 American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures1, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. It is the sixth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is scripted and directed by Joss Whedon and features an ensemble cast that includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg, Cobie Smulders, Stellan Skarsgård and Samuel L. Jackson. In The Avengers, Nick Fury, director of the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D., recruits Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk and Thor to form a team that must stop Thor's adoptive brother Loki from subjugating the Earth.

Development of The Avengers began when Marvel Studios received a loan from Merrill Lynch in April 2005. After the success of the film Iron Man in May 2008, Marvel announced that The Avengers would be released in July 2011. With the signing of Johansson in March 2009, the film was pushed back for a 2012 release. Whedon was brought on board in April 2010 and rewrote the screenplay originally written by Zak Penn. Production began in April 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before moving to Cleveland, Ohio, in August and New York City in September. The film was converted to 3D in post-production.

Chronicle is a 2012 science fiction film directed by Josh Trank and written by Max Landis based on a story by both Trank and Landis. The film stars Dane DeHaan, Michael B. Jordan, and Alex Russell.

The plot follows three Seattle high-school seniors Andrew (DeHaan), his cousin Matt (Russell) and their fellow high school student Steve (Jordan), as they form a close bond after receiving telekinetic abilities from an unknown object. The group uses its abilities for mischief and personal gain until Andrew begins to use them for darker purposes.

The film is visually presented as found footage filmed from the perspective of various video recording devices, primarily from a hand-held camcorder used by Andrew to document the events in his life.

Chronicle was released in the United Kingdom and Ireland on February 1, 2012 and in the United States on February 3, 2012. The film received positive reviews from critics and became a box office success.

Unfaithful 2002 American erotic drama film directed by Adrian Lyne and starring Richard Gere, Diane Lane and Olivier Martinez. Unfaithful 2002 was adapted by Alvin Sargent and William Broyles Jr. from the French film The Unfaithful Wife (1968) (La Femme infidèle) by the noted director Claude Chabrol. It tells about a couple living in suburban New York City whose marriage goes dangerously awry when the wife indulges in an adulterous fling with a stranger she encounters by chance in Manhattan. The Unfaithful 2002 production was unusual for its demanding and extended sex scenes shot through smoke. Lyne shot a total of five endings, based on his experience with the controversial content of Fatal Attraction. Unfaithful grossed $52 million in North America and a total of $119 million worldwide. Despite mixed to negative reviews overall, Lane received much praise for her performance. She won awards for best actress from the National Society of Film Critics and New York Film Critics, and was nominated for a Golden Globe and an Academy Award for Best Actress. Connie Sumner (Lane) and Edward Sumner (Gere) are a couple who live in suburban New York City. Their marriage is solid and loving but lacking passion. One day, Connie journeys into the city, where she is caught in a windstorm. As she seeks a taxi, she bumps into a stranger (Martinez). They both fall and Connie scrapes her knees. The stranger offers to let her use his apartment to clean up. At that moment, an empty cab goes by, but Connie accepts the offer instead of heading back to the train station. The stranger introduces himself as Paul Martel, a Frenchman who buys and sells used books. When Martel makes small advances toward her, Connie becomes uncomfortable and decides to leave . He lets her go but gives her a book of Persian poetry, Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam as a gift.

The Hunter 2011 is an 2011 American Horror-thriller film directed by Chris Briant. The Hunter 2011 film stars Steven Waddington, Tony Becker, and Dianna Agron. The Hunter 2011 released in limited theaters on December 11, 2011. Detective Le Saint is assigned to protect a police informant and arranges to meet the informant at an abandoned fort in the woods. When he arrives, he finds that a group of men are using the fort as a base for hunting humans. Alice and a friend also decide to visit the fort and become caught in the hunt.

A mercenary hunter named Martin David (Willem Defoe) is hired by a military biotech company called Red Leaf to go to Tasmania and follow up on two sightings of the presumably extinct Tasmanian Tiger. His orders are to recover tissue and organ samples and to report back once he gathers them, as the company is convinced the sighting reports are reliable. When he arrives in Tasmania under the alias of a professor from a university, he takes up a temporary residence at a rural location with a single mother named Lucy Armstrong (Frances O'Connor) and her two young children Sass and her brother Bike. Sass is a very vocal girl, while Bike chooses never to speak, similar to David who prefers isolation. Lucy Armstrong spends most of her time sleeping due to her dependency on prescribed medication - her grief caused by her environmentalist husband Jarrah Armstrong, who disappeared in the Tasmanian wilderness some eight months earlier. Speculation surrounds his disappearance as there has been a longstanding conflict between the local loggers and the 'greenies', a group of environmentalists who have set up barriers to protest the deforestation. Realizing he does not want to stay at the Armstrong's home due to a neglected malfunctioning generator and the discomfort he feels around the children, David attempts to find someone else he can pay in exchange for temporary lodging. He searches at the local pub, only to be accosted by the loggers who believe he is one of the environmental protestors, which David never corrects due to the need for keeping his real agenda for being in Tasmania a secret.

Rock of Ages is an upcoming American musical film and is a film adaptation of the 2006 Chris D'Arienzo comedy rock/jukebox Broadway musical of the same name. Originally scheduled to enter production in the summer of 2010 for a 2011 release, it eventually started production in May 2011 and is scheduled for a June 15, 2012, release. Rock of Ages film stars country singer Julianne Hough and Diego Boneta with an ensemble cast including Tom Cruise, Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paul Giamatti, Malin Åkerman, Bryan Cranston, with Alec Baldwin and Mary J. Blige. Rock of Ages film will feature the music of Bon Jovi, Guns N' Roses, Def Leppard, Foreigner, Journey, Poison, Europe, Night Ranger, Twisted Sister, and REO Speedwagon, and was directed by Adam Shankman. In 1987, Sherrie Christian travels from Oklahoma to Los Angeles with dreams of becoming a famous singer ("Sister Christian"/"Just Like Paradise"). Passing by a popular nightclub called "The Bourbon Room", Sherrie's suitcase, containing her favorite records, is stolen. Drew Boley, who works at the Bourbon Room as a busboy, tries to catch the robber, but fails. He comforts Sherrie and, upon learning of her condition, he gets her a job at the Bourbon Room as a waitress. The club's owner, Dennis Dupree, and his right-hand man, Lonny Barnett, arrange for Stacee Jaxx, a famous rock star who recently announced he'll split from his band, Arsenal, to perform with them one last time at the Bourbon Room, hoping that the income will help them with unpaid taxes that are threatning the club. Upon learning of this, Patricia Whitman the religious conservative wife of Mayor Mike Whitman, who wants revenge against Jaxx for sleeping with her in college and never calling back, organizes her church to protest in front of the Bourbon Room, planning to shut them down ("Hit Me With Your Best Shot"). Meanwhile, Drew and Sherrie go to an used records store, where they both confess their dreams of becoming famous ("Juke Box Hero"/"I Love Rock 'n' Roll"). Drew decides to write a song for Sherrie. They later have a date at the Hollywood sign, where they slowly fall in love ("Waiting for a Girl Like You").

In Monte Carlo, the Penguins and two chimpanzees, Mason and Phil (disguising as the King of Versailles) keep winning in gambling until Alex's gang's attempt to reach them blunders and sparks chaos in the Hotel De Paris. Hotel security calls Monaco Animal Control officer Captain Chantel DuBois (Frances McDormand) to deal with the animals, but she wants them dead as trophies. During a high-speed chase between the relentless DuBois and the animals in a truck driven by the Penguins to reach their aircraft, the animals barely manage to elude her.

The Vow is a 2012 romantic drama film directed by Michael Sucsy, starring Rachel McAdams, Channing Tatum, Sam Neill, Scott Speedman and Jessica Lange. The Vow film is based on the true story of Kim and Krickitt Carpenter.

The Vow is based on the actual relationship of Kim and Krickitt Carpenter, who wrote a book about their marriage, also known as The Vow. Ten weeks after their wedding on 18 September 1993, the couple was in an automobile accident in which Krickitt suffered brain trauma, which erased memories of her romance with Kim as well as their recent marriage. Kim, however, was still madly in love with his wife, although she viewed him as a stranger after the accident. According to the couple, their faith in Jesus and their wedding vows before God kept them together.

Paige Collins (Rachel McAdams) and her husband Leo (Channing Tatum) come out of a movie theater. On their way home, at a stop sign, Paige unbuckles her seatbelt to lean over and kiss Leo. At that very moment, a truck rams their car from behind and Paige crashes through the windshield. Both of them are rushed to the emergency room, and as Leo, in a voice-over talks about how "moments of impact help in finding who we are" the movie cuts to how Paige and Leo first met. The scenes of how they courted, proposed and married are interwoven with the present.
